Flashback to May 22, 2014:
“See a penny pick it up, all day long you have GOOD LUCK!” Am I the only crazy person that prefers to find a lucky penny faced side up, rather than a dime or quarter on the floor?! LOL. Anybody who has ever been walking with me, and happens to be there when I see a penny on the floor on the heads side knows I will most likely pick it up lol. I loveeee finding lucky pennies. It instantly makes my day that much better! And if I find a lucky penny on the day I’m planning to play the lotto, my hype gets even higher than usual! Finding a lucky penny on a lotto playing day hasn’t done much yet, but I know it will one day. =)
I guess it’s not about the actual tangible item, but more about how much you believe in whatever that represents. A couple months ago I was on Facebook and came across one of those public posts. They said that if you shared it, you will receive good luck and attract money. So of course I shared it. Lo and behold, I got money!!! I can’t remember how much but I know it definitely came in very handy. After that I posted it only one more time- on Instagram that time, and guess what?? I got more money!! It’s been a while since I posted that, so I figured I wouldn’t be abusing the luck and I wanted to share it with bloggers, so here it is. This penny below will bring you money and luck if you really believe it will =)
I also wanted to share the fact that as I was sitting at work recreating some merge fields for a program I am working on, I noticed a lady bug land on my files. I am not a bug fan, but lady bugs and fireflies/light bugs are an exception. Light bugs and definitely one of the coolest animals on Earth- I used to catch them every evening in the summer when I lived in Delaware. Lady bugs, have a nice name, have a very distinct natural look, and they bring good luck!! After I took some pictures and stared at it walking on my hands I took it outside. I went online to look up what kind of luck lady bugs are believed to bring and found this one:
"Some cultures believe seeing a ladybug brings good luck. The person may then succeed in love, have good weather, experience financial success or simply receive some other desired wish. Other cultures presume having a ladybug land on you brings good luck, or that whatever a ladybug lands on will be replaced with an improved version.”
Gosh I hope that lady bug brings me luck in the love department, as well as financial lol. I also hope since it landed on the files I had printed out, the new program comes out immaculate and my boss has no more critical comments or wishes to delete it and change it all over again. Lol. =)
I went ahead and added cool penny and lady bug superstitions and facts for whoever was interested. =)

After the farmers prayed to the Virgin Mary to protect their crops, ladybugs supposedly appeared to defend the crops. The farmers called the bugs "Beetles of Our Lady," which evolved into "ladybugs" -- hence a reference to the Virgin Mary.

In 1959, the penny was redesigned to have the Lincoln Memorial on the backside. It was in honor of his 150th birthday.
The initials “FG”, for Frank Gasparro, the engraver who designed the new backside, appear on the right of the design, near the shrubbery.
